Independent civic briefs Vol. 1 · No. 1 · 2026
Packet Press linocut mark: a folded packet beside a small press Packet Press Public packets, structured briefs

Product

A weekly brief, not another unread PDF pile.

The unit of work is one week of already-posted public documents. The unit of delivery is a brief you can scan in minutes and verify in one click.

Inside a Packet Press brief

1. Source

Only documents a city, agency, or clerk already posted on a public https page. No password gates.

2. Structure

Each item is a row: date, body, type, title, source URL. Same facts in HTML, JSON, and CSV.

3. Verify

If we cannot point at the public page, it does not belong in the brief. The source link is the product.

Intended beat

Local government meeting packets: agendas, minutes, staff reports. The current public sample uses the Federal Register as a stand-in because that API is public, requires no key, and is already used in Packet Press internal testing.

We will not invent votes, invent attendance, or paraphrase a city into a press release. If the packet is silent, the brief is silent.

How to try it

  1. Read the sample brief.
  2. Download the JSON or CSV.
  3. If the format would save you a Monday, join the waitlist. There is no checkout on this site.
